Homemade Almond Milk

Having so many plant milk options is such a joy. However, so many of them have a ton of ingredients that are not so great. I try to make my milk at home. Homemade Almond Milk is not difficult. It just takes some planning because you have to soak the almonds overnight.
Makes around 1 litre.

Ingredients:
200g raw almonds
900 mL fresh water

Method:
Place raw almond in a bowl and cover generously with water. Leave soaking over night. (If you live in a warm climate, put almonds in the fridge overnight.)
Drain almonds. Discard the water. Rinse and drain again.
Fill a high power blender with 900mL of fresh water. Add almonds.
Blend on high until almonds are pulverised and the liquid turns white.
Transfer almond/water mixture onto a Milk bag (can also use a kitchen towel or a clean old t-shit).
Hold milk bag closed with you hands.Squeeze the almond/water mixture onto a medium bowl until you get as much of the liquid out.
Using a funnel, transfer the almond milk to a bottle.
Keep refrigerated.

Notes:
You can add maple syrup or dates to sweeten the milk prior to blending.
Milk will keep in the fridge for 3-5 days.
Shake well before using as it tends to separate.
