Six Movements of the Spine
How many of us wake up stiff in the morning? I’ve been there. You wake up already tired and dreading the day. Luckily there are six simple movements that you can do to fight off stiffness, loosen up, and energise.
In Yoga spinal health is at the core. Your center is the most important. Flexions, extensions, and rotations can get your spine strong and prepare your body for the inner work.
These movements below can be done right after you wake up or while you’re waiting for the coffee. It takes five minutes. Do each pose for five breaths.
These poses warm up the spine, the muscles, get lubrication to the fascia, and help your lungs breath better. Who knew that six movements could do all of that.
Implementing these movements to your morning routine will reduce body stiffness, energise your body, your mind, and set you up to embrace the day with a smile on your face. Trust me.
They are also good for those of us who spend most of the day sitting in front of a computer. Take a five minute break and move your spine. You will feel the difference.
Namaste.
